David Llauger Meiselman, Producer/Director  

The complex and fast-paced entertainment industry, demands a dynamic executive producer with many years of experience and contacts. At the helm of Boricua Films is such a person, David Llauger Meiselman.

One-half of the writer/director team the “Boricua Bros” is David who lives in Los Angeles, CA. He has produced and directed numerous plays and poetry slams, television pilots, radio shows, documentaries, an animated series and now a feature-length motion picture, El Matadero . David has recently produced a short Film by actor writer and producer Reginald VelJohnson entitled Sunday Evening Hair Cut , which premiered in February of 2005 at the Pan African Film Festival and later took top honors at the 2005 National Association of Latino Producers.

Having such a diverse creative background, one might think that David's skills in this current business venture would primarily come from that area of the business. Nevertheless, David has always had keen instincts when it comes to the management of his business. David was a co-partner in MRMG LLC. where he raised financing for the feature film LA River Stories , and the animated series, Paris Falls , which has won numerous awards including best animated short at the slam dance film festival. David has worked for such noted industry professionals as the writer Lester Cole, and TV Mogul Haim Saban.

David is also a member of Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration Arts Advisory Council California. He is a member of Nosotros and a member of NALIP. He was born in New York City of Puerto Rican and Russian Jewish dissent and moved to Chicago where he considers it to be his hometown.

David brings to every project his extensive creative and business background with a clear vision and driving desire. David is an excellent executive producer who can take Boricua Films and its numerous projects to the next level.

 

Erik Llauger Meiselman, Writer/Director  

The other half of the writer/director team the “Boricua Bros.” and partner in crime, Erik brings a plethora of creative and technical skills that helps contrast and supports every project the Bros. create. Boricua Films is the full package with the Boricua Bros. at the Helm.

Erik has come 180 degrees from being a professional actor in New York and Europe to directing actors on stage and film. Erik has animated, edited, and directed an animated series, 3 documentaries, 2 pilots, 2 shorts, and numerous commercials.

Erik's sharp eye and methodical approach to everything he does is not just limited to the creative aspects of the business. Erik has years of technical training that allows him to control every aspect of a production, including his understanding of the legal and financial elements required to take a project from concept to completion. Working in production both in the field and in post, Erik has been a Camera Operator, Sound Mixer, Editor, and Director with such noted organizations as, The Public Theater, ABC, NBC, MTV, Disney,, HBO, and PBS.

Erik is very active in the film and technical community where he is currently a board member of the Advisory Council of Fine Arts and Cultural Affairs for Puerto Rico, and the American Electronics Association (AEA).

The creative force that Erik brings to every project that the Boricua Bros. touch is evident in the quality of their work. A technical mind with a creative soul gives Erik the unique skills that one needs to take a dream from vision to reality, the reality of excellence…uncompromised.

In 2001, Erik with his brother David founded Boricua Films, this film companies mission is to produce culturally diverse works that explore the unique American experience through the eyes and souls of the peoples that come here looking for a better life.
