Hector Orlando’s grandmother was always ridiculed for believing that a mysterious folk monster killed Hector’s two cousins fifteen years ago. When his grandmother passes away, Hector inherits her old house in a sleepy Highland Park neighborhood adjacent to the LA River. While rehabbing the house, he discovers fifteen-year- old files hidden inside one of the walls by his missing cousin. The files hint at a vast cover-up over the myriad disappearances related to the mysterious creature.

Faced with the chance to vindicate his grandmother and discover the truth behind the disappearances; Hector plunges into his obsessive investigation, dragging his friends along with him. When his friends start dropping off one by one, he realizes that they have awoken the wrath of the genius behind the genetic creatures.

Now, they have become the targets. Hector must hurry to get to the bottom of it. If he fails, he and his friends may die. And the genetic project will grow to its ultimate, deadly, global climax.
